He kept turning it over and it started to slowly started to start kinda like the battery was almost dead then the terminals started glowing or could it have been the battery terminals arcing making it very bright? Could it be because the battery was almost dead? it has been sitting for awhile. Thanks in advance! He believes it was a bad connection as well because it was a new battery. Nothing else heated up. Open Question: Legal to Launch a motorized Zodiac/boat from Ocean Beach, San Francisco,CA?

I live about 2 blocks from Ocean Beach in San Francisco. It is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and managed by the National Park Service (so Federal land, not California or San Francisco). On really nice calm days I have wondered about buying a zodiac (inflatable) boat with a 6hp outboard motor and launching it with a few friends. There is no launch or pier, and vehicles like trucks or ATVs aren't allowed on the beach, but I think a few (4-5) guys could carry it the distance even with the outboard. While the obvious question (feel free to answer) would be is this a stupid idea… The real question I have is: Is it legal to launch a motorized boat from Ocean Beach? Flower, Interesting I hadn't heard about that. This http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/20~ has a photo of their boat and you can see the surf in the background. Not the kind of weather I would ever go out in (or want to). Looking deeper there is a ban on Personal Water Craft (jet skis) and 2-stroke engines. (http://www.dbw.ca.gov/Environmenta~ [Link]

I hear the term center console when describing some boats and I know that it means that the the console has all the gauges and steering wheel on it, but does it have to be in the center? Like, a Ranger bass boat has the console but isn't located in the center, but instead on the right. Is it right to call this a center console? [Link]

Resolved Question: Naming A Boat after my Father?

We have a bow rider now & wish to purchase a bigger boat. My father passed away from a heart attack 2 mos. ago & we will use the inheritance money to do so. I would like to name the boat after him. His name was Jack and his favorite saying was 'what the shit'. We joke every day & use the phrase often, even in texting 'WTS'. He used the phrase often to anything. We would always say what's the first thing that comes to mind about dad. We'd say WTS! So, any ideas on what to name the boat based on that??! [Link]
